Tournament Notables:
- While seedings weren’t available for the first four times the AVP was here, the winners of both the men’s and women’s events in the last three times here were all seeded number one.
- No men's teams competing here have previously won a Pro Series AVP title but on the Tour Series Dave Palm / Roberto Rodriguez won twice in 2022.
- There are five teams competing here which have previously won the on the AVP Tour as partners: Taryn Kloth / Kristen Nuss (four AVP wins), Kelly Cheng / Sara Hughes (two AVP wins), Terese Cannon / Sarah Sponcil (one AVP win) and Melissa Humana-Paredes / Brandie Wilkerson (one AVP win), and Larissa / Lili (three Tour Series titles).
- The qualifier on Thursday went much better than in 2016... in that event due to weather the qualifier was shortened to best of three matches with the first two sets to 11 and the third to 7.
- Play on Saturday was halted at 12:40 pm CT, and resumed at 6:00 pm CT due to lightning, strong winds and heavy rain.
- The women's fifth-place match between LSU products Taryn Kloth / Kristen Nuss vs Toni Rodriguez (of LSU) / Savvy Simo will take place on court 1 at 12:05 pm CT Sunday... last year in New Orleans these teams were playing when Rodriguez injured her knee at 14-8 in the first set... this is the first AVP event for her since the injury... Rodriguez has played 3 times internationally this year (once losing to Kloth / Nuss in the qualifier and once losing to Kloth / Nuss in a gold medal match)
- Since seedings known (since start of 2001), this marks the 39th time that the women's top four seeds all advanced to the semifinals... it also happened in New Orleans 2016, when #4 defeated #1 in the title match
