  2026 League Tidbits:
  • In the first 2 League seasons the competitions were held in 5 states, and those were 5 of the 6 most populated states in the USA (California, Texas, Florida, New York and Illinois)... this year the League will be played in 8 different states (including the championships) with only New York hosting two league weekends
  • Each team plays the other 7 teams, with two matches against the city pair
  • Out of the 32 players from the 2025 League (not including subs), 27 return for 2025 along with 5 new players
    • MEN (3): Derek Bradford, Evan Cory, Ryan Wilcox
    • WOMEN (2): Maddie Anderson, Alaina Chacon
  • As for teams, there is only 1 men's team which is playing for the 3rd year (San Diego Smash) while 2 women's teams are intact for the 3rd consecutive season (Austin Aces and Palm Beach Passion)
  • For the men, Miles Partain (Dallas Dream) and Phil Dalhausser (Palm Beach Passion) have stuck with their team each season, while on the women's side Kylie Deberg (Dallas Dream) and Geena Urango (San Diego Smash) have both played all 3 years for the same city team
  • The teams with a total of 6 different players (not including subs) over the 3 years are Austin Aces men, Miami Mayhem men (which have had both Crabb brothers), Los Angeles Launch women and New York Nitro women
  • The League features 12 players who have played in the Olympics (either indoors or on the beach).  The Brooklyn Blaze and Los Angeles Launch are the only cities which do not have any Olympians, while the Palm Beach Passion lead the League with 3 Olympians

           Paul Lotman played indoors in 2012 (5th place) and was an alternate in 2016
           Chaim Schalk played beach for Canada in 2016 (9th place)

  • The weeks each team plays:
    • Austin Aces (2 day, 2 night) - 3, 6, 7, 8  [1 of the 2 last teams to start league play; technically a week off between 7 and 8]
    • Brooklyn Blaze (4 day, 0 night) - 1, 2, 5, 7  [only team with no night matches]
    • Dallas Dream (1 day, 3 night) - 3, 4, 5, 8  [1 of the 2 last teams to start league play; technically 2 weeks off between 4 and 5; only team to play all 3 night events]
    • Los Angeles Launch (2 day, 2 night) - 1, 4, 5, 8 [play once in May, once in June, once in July, once in August; only team that does not play on actual consecutive weekends]
    • Miami Mayhem (3 day, 1 night) - 2, 3, 5, 7  [1 of 2 teams to play all league matches in June and July]
    • New York Nitro (3 day, 1 night) - 1, 2, 4, 6  [1 of 2 teams to finish league play in week 6]
    • Palm Beach Passion (2 day, 2 night) - 2, 3, 4, 6 [only team with 3 straight weeks of competition; 1 of 2 teams to finish league play in week 6; 1 of 2 teams to play all league matches in June and July]
    • San Diego Smash (3 day, 1 night) - 1, 6, 7, 8 [has longest break of all teams; also technically a week off between 7 and 8] 
  • Weeks 3 (Miami) and 8 (Dallas) will be the only 2 of the 9 weekends that will be held indoors in arenas​
    • The 2025 championships in Chicago were the first in league history to be played on a natural beach (all other outdoor events were played in tennis or other existing facilities where sand was brought in)
    • In 2026 the AVP will visit Aspen for the first time ever... the only time an AVP event was played at a higher altitude was a men's event in Vail in 1997
    • The AVP will play in Las Vegas for the first time since 2009 and in Belmar for the first time since 2010
  • The 2024 Champions were the San Diego Smash (combined men and women victory)... the 2025 Champions were Palm Beach Passion men and Brooklyn Blaze women
