General Tournament Notes:
- When making her pro beach volleyball debut here, Sarah Wood became the youngest player (male or female) to advance from the qualifier into an AVP main draw. She was 14 years, 1 month and 13 days old, and eclipsed the previous record by over two years. Prior to this, just five different women (a total of six different times) under the age of 17 (all were 16 years old) had advanced from the qualifier into the main draw.
- In a match in the first round of the contender's bracket, Raffe Paulis / Jeff Samuels (7th seeds) defeated Frank Field / Tyler Penberthy (24th seed, 15th QT seed) 41-39 in the first set. That score was just shy of an AVP record, as the highest ever men's set was 43-41 (Theo Brunner / Todd Rogers def. Brad Keenan / John Mayer in first set in Salt Lake City 2014. Paulis / Samuels led that set 19-13 before Field / Penberthy staged an incredible comeback. The set took 53 minutes to play, and included an injury timeout for Jeff Samuels.
- In the 45 matches in the tournament, the men had 32 sweeps and 13 three-set matches. Of the 13 three-set matches, 5 times the team winning the first set won the match, meaning that for the event teams winning the first set were 37-8 in matches.
- For the women there were also 32 sweeps and 13 three-set matches. Of the 13 three-set matches 7 times the team winning the first set won the match, meaning that for the event teams winning the first set were 39-6.
- Larissa Maestrini became the first female player to win a domestic pro beach volleyball event after turning 40. Kerri Walsh Jennings, who won an FIVB title at the age of 40, is the only other woman to win after celebrating her 40th birthday.
