General Tournament Notes:

• There have been five Pro and Gold Series events thus far, and a different team has won each time on both the men’s and women’s side. Including the Tour Series, eight different men’s teams have won the nine titles. On the women’s side Larissa and Lili Maestrini have won three Tour Series titles, with the other six titles going to six different teams.
• With 100 men’s teams signed up, this marks the biggest draw since 2019.  This marks the 35th time in AVP history that a tournament had at least 100 teams, with all but one of those being on the men’s side.  As well, this weekend will be the 10th time in Manhattan Beach history that at least 100 teams will battle for a spot on the pier (also each year from 2003 through 2007, 2009, 2017, 2018 and 2019)
• The 200 men’s players currently live in 28 different states and the 134 female players currently live in 22 different states. Between the men and women, a total of 34 states are represented here.
• The field includes eight men and seven women who have played either indoors or on the beach in the Olympics, and 14 women who have won a combined total of 26 national championships in NCAA beach volleyball.
• There have been 17 previous AVP tournaments in Manhattan Beach in which seedings were known… in all 17 of those the winning team has been seeded 3rd or better (and that will continue this year)… in that span the #1 seed won 10 times, #2 seed won 4 times and the #3 seed won 3 times
