General Tournament Notes:

• Chicago has held the most domestic tournaments of any location outside of the state of California.
• Chicago 2016 was the first AVP event to use match point freeze scoring.
• John Hyden and Ed Ratledge are both playing in Chicago for the 16th time, which is the most of any player in history.
• On the women’s side Larissa and Lili Maestrini, the Tour Series winners in Muskegon, Denver and Atlantic City, will be competing for the 11th time this year, the most of any women, and all as partners.
• In the last nine events in Chicago, eight different men’s teams have won.
• There have been six Pro and Gold Series events thus far, and a different women’s team has won each time.
• Tina Graudina / Sarah Pavan defeated Carly Kan / Kaitlyn Malaney 33-31 in the third set, which is the highest scoring third set in AVP history (men or women)... the previous high for women was 29-27 in the 2014 Milwaukee qualifier
• #1 seeds Theo Brunner / Chaim Schalk finished in 9th place... excluding two events in which the top seed forfeited matches (Phil Dalhausser / Nick Lucena in both Atlanta 2021 and New York 2017), that's the lowest finish by a top seed since Dallas on 4/21/07 (Mike Lambert / Stein Metzger went 0-2 in matches and finished in 17th place)
